Welcome to July in Quepos, Costa Rica. Yes, the Wahoo have showed up again! Many know that Wahoo will peel line off your reel at an amazing rate, but it isn't only the drag screaming action that makes the Wahoo one of my favorite species but they are one of the finest eating fish in the sea, be it cooked or as sushi. The months of June and July produce some of the years largest fish with 60 pounders not being uncommon.

Inshore charters have been reporting better numbers of Roosterfish which will be the primary inshore target for the next few months.

We have been just hammering the wahoo and the tuna and marlin bite has picked up. The next few months produce lots of table fare with tuna, dorado and wahoo on the menu offshore.
